Acting Ludzidzini Governor Lusendvo Fakudze, in an interview, said any funeral arrangements which were scheduled for to today should be put on hold or postponed to Sunday. Fakudze said this was due to the ongoing Sibaya, where emaSwati were expected to make their input regarding issues of the country, which will ultimately lead to the unveiling of the country’s new prime minister. He mentioned that Lobamba and Nkhanini were some of the places that would be affected by this. Respect Fakudze stated that this should be done out of respect. He stated that people who lived as far as Mbabane and Malkerns could continue with their funeral plans on Saturday. The acting governor added that weddings could, however, proceed without any problems, even in places within proximity to the royal residence. He said weddings were not similar to funerals. Sibaya is expected to end tomorrow after submissions which were made by different speakers since yesterday. It was officially opened by His Majesty King Mswati III on Wednesday, where thousands of emaSwati were in attendance.
