Times Of Swaziland: INVESTORS SHOW INTEREST IN ESWATINI INVESTORS SHOW INTEREST IN ESWATINI ================================================================================ BY KWANELE SIBIYA on 29/10/2019 02:43:00 MANZINI - Eswatini should brace itself up for more foreign investors. This is because His Majesty King Mswati III has assured the nation that many foreign investors from Indonesia, Japan, Russia and Azerbaijan respectively have shown interest to invest in the country. The King was speaking during a media briefing at Ludzidzini Royal Residence on his official following his State visit to the aforementioned countries. Speaking during the media briefing, the King pointed out that he received a warm welcome from all three countries and while in Indonesia, he had the privilege to deliberate on issues of international trade and business networking between Indonesia and Eswatini. Relationship “We also discussed on how best we could work cooperatively to strengthen the existing relationship between the two countries,” said the King. His majesty said from Indonesia he went to Japan and upon some discussion with the emperor of Japan Prince Naruhito promised to work cooperatively with Eswatini in terms of job creation. “Japan has already embarked on a number of projects in the country and they promised to expand their investments and invest even more in the country.” He the country also made a pledge to fully support Japan whenever necessary. Furthermore, the monarch said the Japan Emperor expressed his gratitude towards the country for the continued support. Also, the King said while in the country he had the privilege to explore the country’s traditions which included among others Japan’s tradition of burying their forefathers. From Japan the King said he went to Russia for the first African Summit hosted by that country. He said during the summit discussions on how trade and other operations could be modified in Africa. “It was agreed during the meeting that many investors from Russia should come and invest in many African countries in order to create more jobs in Africa,” said the King. The King also pointed out that during the meeting, Russia made a proposal to host the African Summit once in every three years, which many African heads of State deemed it necessary. His Majesty said from Russia he went to Azerbaijan where they were hosting the Non-Aligned Movement whose aim was to eradicate the formulations of weapons of mass destruction by various countries. He said such summit was also aimed to promote peace and harmony between countries given the incessant occurrence of natural disasters which include among others global warming and climate change which required all countries to support each other. He said during the summit Eswatini made an undertaking to support the Non -Aligned in its quest to promote peace and harmony. His Majesty also mentioned that many investors from Azerbaijan expressed their interest to invest in Eswatini and other African countries citing Africa was an ideal location for business.
