Source within the transport industry, revealed to this publication that one of the people who were called to assist the police with information regarding the death of the businessman is a public transport operator whose vehicles also operate between Eswatini and South Africa. He alleged that the public transport operator was reportedly out of the country on Wednesday when he was called by his colleagues and police who were working on the matter. However, the source alleged that the operator returned to the kingdom later on the day and responded to the police call to assist them with information regarding the matter. Investigating Meanwhile, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati said the police were still investigating the matter. He said in their investigations, some individuals were asked to assist the law enforcers who are handling the matter with information that could lead to the arrest of the people who shot the businessman. Khumalo, who owned a fleet of mini-buses and kombis, a majority of which operate between Eswatini and South Africa, was gunned down by unknown men while he was in a car together with his family, including his wife. The incident took place in broad daylight near Manzini Club traffic lights on Wednesday. Efforts of getting a comment from the Swaziland Interstate Transport Association proved futile as the National Chairman, Bambumuti Sithole’s mobile phone was off for the better part of yesterday afternoon.
