Times Of Swaziland: MZWAKHE MYENI NO-SHOW, ARREST WARRANT ISSUED MZWAKHE MYENI NO-SHOW, ARREST WARRANT ISSUED ================================================================================ BY SIBUSISO ZWANE on 22/01/2020 02:54:00 MANZINI - A warrant of arrest has been issued against gospel musician and producer Mzwakhe Myeni. The warrant of arrest was issued by Magistrate Dumisa Mazibuko yesterday and this was after the gospel artist failed to appear in court for a remand appearance. According to the warrant of apprehension, from information taken on oath, there were reasonable grounds of suspicion against Myeni of Madonsa that he had allegedly committed a crime of contempt of court. The warrant says this was because he was duly summoned to appear before the court of the magistrate at 11:30am yesterday on charges of assault common and crimen injuria, but failed to do so. Immediately Furthermore, in the warrant of arrest, the magistrate said; “These are, therefore, in His Majesty’s name, to command you (police) that immediately upon sight hereof you arrest and bring the accused person or cause him to be arrested and brought before the court to be dealt with according to law.” In his charges, it is alleged that Myeni assaulted a businessman, Nhlanhla Macingwane, and allegedly hurled insults at a popular SABC 1 soapie, Uzalo former actor, Simphiwe Melusi Nxumalo, who is famously known ‘Bob 90’. It is alleged that the incident allegedly took place on December 26, 2018 at Manzini Police Station. However, it is worth noting that in December 2018, the complainants in this matter were charged with assault common. Offence According to their charge sheet, the duo allegedly committed the offence on December 26, 2018 at Madonsa. The charge sheet said the accused person(s), each or both of them acting jointly in furtherance of a common purpose, allegedly wrongfully, unlawfully and intentionally assaulted Myeni. Furthermore, in the charge sheet, it was alleged that they assaulted the musician by man-handling, strangulating him and further pocked him in the eyes with a finger. Afterwards, the charge sheet said they also allegedly bumped him with a motor vehicle.
