Times Of Swaziland: SOME MPS SECOND VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE SOME MPS SECOND VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ================================================================================ BY STANLEY KHUMALO on 04/10/2021 08:34:00 MANZINI – Some legislators say they will second a vote of no confidence in the Speaker of the House. Mtsambama Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Simosakhe Shongwe said he would gladly second a vote of no confidence in Petros Mavimbela at this point. Shongwe said this was because some motions moved by legislators were not included in the Order Paper despite the legislators having followed all the laid down procedures. He cited the follow-ups that were made by Lobamba Lomdzala Constituency MP Marwick Khumalo of his motion as a good example. Shongwe said such a motion was meant to help the nation; however, that initiative fell through. “At this instance, based on the manner the Speaker is doing things; I’d gladly support a vote of no confidence in him.” Also, Mbabane West Constituency MP Musa Zwane said he would support a vote of no confidence in Mavimbela. Zwane said at this moment, he was keen to see if the motion that was moved by the Lobamba Lomdzala Constituency MP would be in the Order Paper in the next sitting. “I believe that if he had not seen the motion like he said on Thursday, he has now seen it and we are waiting to see what will happen next,” Zwane said. The legislator was hopeful that there would be House sittings soon and the motion would be addressed. Meanwhile, according to the Constitution of Eswatini, Act 001 of 2005, Section 102 Section 7 (b), the Office of Speaker of the House shall become vacant where the House passes a resolution by not less than two-thirds of all its members to that effect.
