Times Of Swaziland: MP MTHANDENI NOT WELL, TRIAL POSTPONED MP MTHANDENI NOT WELL, TRIAL POSTPONED ================================================================================ Mbongiseni Ndzimandze on 16/02/2022 08:39:00 MBABANE - The trial of incarcerated MPs Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube was postponed unceremoniously yesterday. This was after it was brought to the attention of the court that Dube was not feeling well. Dube, who was in court could not stand upright without support and was complaining of severe chest pains. When standing up, he would be seen leaning on a chair and would now and again drink water. Continuation This happened while the Members of Parliament (MP) and their legal team were waiting for the arrival of Judge Mumcy Dlamini in Court C for the continuation of their trial. Dube was overheard telling his co- accused and members of their legal team that he was not feeling well and needed to see a medical practitioner. So serious was the situation that lawyers for both parties approached the judge in her chambers to explain the situation. When the lawyers returned to court, Judge Dlamini entered the courtroom and informed those present that the matter was being postponed as Dube was reportedly not feeling well. The court then directed the registrar of the High Court to communicate with the authorities of His Majesty’s Correctional Services so that Dube could be attended to by a medical practitioner, to determine whether he was fit for trial or not. It would be the medical report that would determine whether the matter continues today or not. After the matter was postponed, the visibly distressed Dube was put on leg irons by warders while he was about to leave the accused dock.
