The carhijackers allegedly stole a vehicle near Matsamo and then used it to commit horrific crimes. It is alleged that the vehicle was stolen from a woman at a place known as Msahweni near Matsamo. The incident reportedly occurred last Friday. After stealing the vehicle, the criminals then headed to Mananga near the border. While they were there, they are said to have offered two teachers a lift. The teachers are reported to have been returning from neighbouring South Africa (SA) to buy cellphones. It could not be established whether the cellphones were for personal use or reselling. The two teachers *Jackie and *Reflioe had no idea that the ‘kind gentlemen’, who had given them a lift, were planning to kidnap them. It is alleged that along the way, the two teachers were taken to a bush where they were allegedly tied. After they had been tied, their bank cards were confiscated and the criminals then asked them to reveal their personal identification numbers (PINs). They were then left in the bush by the men. Withdraw When the women revealed the PINs, it is alleged that the men went to withdraw cash from the women’s accounts. It is alleged that the men stole about E24 000 from the women, including the cellphones that they had purchased from neighbouring SA. It is alleged that the men stole E10 000 from one account and E14 000 from the other. After the men had allegedly stolen the women’s cash, they returned to where they had left them (women) and then proceeded to rape them. It is alleged that the women were raped and only released the following morning, which was a Saturday. The women reported the incident at the Ngonini Police Post near Matsamo. Despite committing this gruesome crime, the men are said to have driven the stolen vehicle around Madlangempisi area. It is alleged that the vehicle then caused an accident and knocked a person dead. The gruesome scene is said to have been abandoned by the criminals. The accident was reported to Mliba Police. Little did the officers know that the vehicle had been used to commit other crimes earlier on. The vehicle is currently parked at the Mliba Police Station. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the gruesome incident. The suspects are still at large. *Not real names
