Times Of Swaziland: MAY KING CONTINUE LEADING NATION WISELY – PM MAY KING CONTINUE LEADING NATION WISELY – PM ================================================================================ Sithembile Hlatshwayo on 20/04/2023 08:43:00 MBABANE – The Prime Minister (PM), Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, is wishing for His Majesty King Mswati III to continue leading his nation with wisdom. In a recorded birthday message to the King, the PM, who left the country on Tuesday for the Republic of Korea on a working visit on invitation by the pm of that country, stated that; “On behalf of government and emaSwati, I wish His Majesty King Mswati III a happy birthday as he turns 55 years, wishing him many more years of good health and strength, so that he can continue to lead the country with wisdom to greater heights and prosperity. Lunwele Loludze Wena Waphakathi.” Celebrations Yesterday marked the King’s birthday, though celebrations have been deferred to September 6, when the country will be celebrating 55 years of independence. The PM said his other wish would be for the nation to present His Majesty with the special gift of sustained peace. In a previous question and answer interview with this publication for the Kings’ Birthday supplement, Dlamini said the unemployment situation in the country, especially among the youth, was a cause for great concern. “We simply are not creating enough job opportunities. It is very disturbing to see unemployed people, be they young or old,” said the PM. He stated that every liSwati deserved a decent standard of living and this could only be achieved by having access to employment opportunities, including self-employment across the economy. Responsibility The PM was questioned on what kept him awake at night, if anything at all, regarding his role and responsibility and why. Furthermore, he said the deteriorating state of the country’s social infrastructure – roads, schools and health facilities, were a cause for concern. He said some of the road networks, especially in the rural areas, were in a bad state of repair. This, he said, limited economic activity and the free movement of goods and services. Such, he said compromised access to health facilities and schools. The PM also stated that the security situation in the country had improved, but ‘how do we keep it like that; we all want peace’.
