The remnants of Sinokuhle Transport, which were charred iron, were left at Moyeni Bus Stop, along the Siphofaneni - Hhelehhele Public Road, after the bus reportedly developed mechanical faults. Sources informed this publication that passengers informed the driver and the conductor that there was a cloud of dark smoke permeating the inside of the bus from the back. This was said to have resulted in the bus driver pulling over at Moyeni Bus Stop to inspect the cause of the smoke. As he parked, according to sources, the over 30 passengers alighted from the bus and some started to investigate the cause of the smoke, while others decided to walk to a place of safety. They said while they searched for the cause of the smoke, the bus burst into flames, resulting in everything in it being burnt. The accident was said to have happened around 4pm. When this publication’s reporter arrived at the scene of the accident, the passengers ‘had left the scene, while personnel from the Eswatini National Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (ENFRES) had extinguished the flames’.Deputy Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Assistant Superintendent Nosipho Mnguni confirmed that a bus was burnt and that people were injured. It is worth noting that it is along this route where a midi bus transporting pupils lost power and started reversing towards oncoming traffic, before hitting a sedan and veering off the road before bursting into flames.
