COUPLE CAUGHT HAVING SEX IN PARK, CONVICTED

NHLANGANO – Two lovers, lost in the moment, found a secluded spot in a park
and fed their passion.
The couple was arrested and charged with indecency for having sexual intercourse
in a public place. They both appeared before the Acting Magistrate Sifiso
Ngwenya yesterday. Wandile Dlamini (24) of Mampondweni was arrested together
with Luyanda Nxumalo (18) from Khiza.  According to the charge sheet, on
December 12, 2024, the couple was caught at Nhlangano Town, having sexual
intercourse, in a public place. The court was further told that their act tended
to deprave the morals of others and outraged the public’s sense of decency.
Actions
The couple made their first appearance in court last week, where they both
pleaded guilty. They submitted they have no children and were sorry for their
actions. They were remanded in custody and appeared yesterday for their
sentencing. The acting magistrate told Nxumalo to take care of herself and told
her she has a bright future. “I am a parent too; the law has tied our hands
and we are unable to beat you. As a result, we are having spoilt children,”
the acting magistrate said. The court further told them to change their attitude
towards life. He advised Dlamini to go to Matsapha, where there is an area
called KaGcogca, and can book for hours.
The court also encouraged him to alternatively go home and use a garage. The
acting magistrate expressed hope that they will not do this again. The acting
magistrate further submitted the time spent in custody will frighten them, so
that when they want to commit such an offence again they will think about the
time they spent in jail. The first offender was then sentenced to two years in
prison with an option to pay a E2 000 fine and second offender recieved the same
sentence
