The Ndlovu and Fakudze families, neighbours under Gilgal Inkhundla, are now embroiled in a bitter feud. The conflict centres on the ownership of a kid. The Ndlovu family reported a missing newly-born lizinyane, and weeks later, children returned a stray goat to their homestead. However, the Fakudze family claimed this goat belonged to them. An older son from the Fakudze family retrieved the goat from the Ndlovu homestead, leading to a confrontation in February 2025. Neighbours reported hearing his cries for help. When neighbours intervened, a brawl ensued. Lomazulu Dlamini, Mshiyeni Ndlovu’s wife, was reportedly armed with a spear and involved in the fighting. She sustained head injuries from a shovel attack. Police arrived at 11am, finding Lomazulu Dlamini unconscious and Sipho Fakudze severely injured. Both were taken to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital, where Lomazulu Dlamini died on Monday. Sipho remains in critical condition.
