Times Of Swaziland: 3 000 at Senzenjani Tshabalala’s funeral 3 000 at Senzenjani Tshabalala’s funeral ================================================================================ BY SIBUSISO SHANGE on 12/08/2013 01:17:00 LUVE –Over 3 000 mourners attended the funeral of former Cabinet Minister and Assistant Commissioner of Police Senzenjani Enock Tshabalala at Emseni. Armed force members were out in numbers to pay their last respects to the retired high-ranking officer. The officers were in full uniform carrying their service rifles. Speaker after speaker paid moving tribute to Tshabalala, mainly highlighting the contribution he made to the police service. Among the speakers were Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services Dumsani Dlamini, Assistant Commissioner of the RSP Patin Nxumalo and former Senator and Police Commissioner Edgar Hillary. Also in attendance was Manzini Regional Commander Charles Tsabedze. The former minister served in the Obed Dlamini-led cabinet. Tshabalala, born in 1930, served as Minister of Interior and Immigration now known as the Ministry of Home Affairs. Timothy Velabo Mtetwa, the acting Ludzidzini Governor, was the Commissioner of Police when Tshabalala held the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police. Mtetwa was the first Swazi to land the high-profile position of Police Commissioner. Tshabalala, before his appointment into Cabinet, served as Regional Administrator for the Shiselweni region. He also served as the Aide-de-Camp of King Sobhuza II. He was married to Princess Jabhisile – also deceased.
