Times Of Swaziland: E150 000 TO SSSA FOR COSSASA GAMES E150 000 TO SSSA FOR COSSASA GAMES ================================================================================ BY NTOKOZO MAGONGO on 26/08/2015 04:26:00 MBABANE – The Swaziland National Sports and Recreation Council (SNSRC) has given the Swaziland Schools Sports Association (SSSA) E150 000 for the COSSASA Games in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The 32-member squad that comprises soccer and netball teams left the country by road yesterday. The Under-17 squad will compete against five countries including Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia. SSSA President Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini said they were grateful to SNSRC and the minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs for the financial support. The country was last represented in the games in 2013 as they failed to attend the games last year due to financial constraints. Their trip was cancelled at the eleventh hour. “We would like to thank parents and the schools for their support. It is now not easy to travel with pupils but parents came on board and assisted us while preparing for the trip. We now pray that the team has a safe journey to and from the games,” he said. Dlamini said they couldn’t send volleyball and basketball teams to the games due to financial challenges. Dlamini will not be part of the delegation but Vice-president Anthony Mdluli will lead the squad. He said other officials who were travelling with the team include the Secretary Felicity Dlamini and Treasurer Lucky Dlamini. “We believe that the teams would make the country proud as they spent almost two weeks in training despite that they were not at camp. They are all eager to make the country proud in the games,” he said.
