Times Of Swaziland: BOMBER’S SUCCESSION PLAN NOW KEY BOMBER’S SUCCESSION PLAN NOW KEY ================================================================================ BY Lwazi's Pandora's Box on 27/06/2017 09:46:00 My dearest readers ... Celebrities ... these awards cannot be a life reward. Kuthi mangibuyele emuva, back to my mother’s umbilical cord. Kuthi mangibuyele emuva futhi enkhabeni yakhe; kuthi makanibelethe futhi. Angigeze futhi, angifundise futhi, angithande angicocele izinganekwane,” sings Front Page superstar, Zola, in one of his moving albums, Impish. His lyrics came to mind after the most exciting National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) elections since 2001, predictably ending with our life-long President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa retaining his position. I felt like re-publishing an article I wrote four weeks ago that ‘Bomber’ has many similarities with under-fire South African President, Jacob Zuma. The bespectacled Mthethwa like Gedleyihlekisa was under-fire ahead of the elections, facing stiff competition from the two Shongwes, Mashumi and Timothy, in the race to being the country’s football head honcho. I said then, Mthethwa besides having a golf-course on his head like ‘Umsholozi’ (Yours Truly too... gegegege) has the bouncebackability element of the much maligned 100 per cent Zulu boy who ousted the amiable Thabo Mbeki at the ANC elective conference in Polokwane in astonishing fashion. Maybe ‘Bomber’ himself was right that he is an ‘Inkanyamba’ as he boasted during the MTN League prize presentation at Royal Swazi Sun a week ago after PLS Chairman, Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze had publicly backed his re-election. Granted, I missed the FA Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday because I was still in Durban, recovering from the torture visited upon my beloved Orlando Pirates Football Club by the swashbuckling Stuart Baxter’s SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday night. To say the ‘Sea Robbers’ were shambolic would be showering the listless Kjell Jonevret’s bunch of blind mice with praise. My younger brother, Lihle, could not have put it better that, “Supporting Pirates is like dating a yellow bone. She cheats on you and you still continue dating her because she is drop-dead gorgeous,”. But I still say, Once and Always since 1937! I digress. Maybe it is well I missed the FA AGM because from the moment the influential PLS Chairman, Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze publicly pronounced his organisation’s support for ‘Bomber’, I knew ‘Bomber’ was headed for a landslide victory. It has come to pass in what was rightly captured in the sensational headline in our yesterday’s edition back page which screamed, “MASHUMI BOMBER-ED’. Shumi LaMashumi was bombered!
