Times Of Swaziland: POWER-STRUGGLE HLASELA LIONS POWER-STRUGGLE HLASELA LIONS ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 29/11/2017 04:49:00 MBABANE – The soap opera at Red Lions would rival most soapies during prime time on television. In the latest twist of events, Red Lions have recalled PLS Board member Ngudze Mamba. According to a reliable source, the alleged drama started when Mamba, the co-director, sacked all members of the club Management Committee without a clue that he had to consult with the co-directors, which in this case are Nthuthuko Dlamini and Phinda Dlamini. “He fired the MC and coach but a day later, he had to rescind his decision because he had to consult with the others. If Mamba wants to last at Red Lions he must work together with the current directors,” the source said. When Mamba was reached for comment, he confirmed that there were lot of irregularities in the team. “Look, I have learnt that they have forwarded a letter to the PLS about their new Chief Operations Officer whom they say is Elvis Dube. We are not in sync with the co-directors and it amazes me that they can take decisions without consulting me as one of the co-directors,” Mamba said. He further said he has invested over E400 000 since the start of the season in running the team, and he feels he deserves to be consulted when decisions pertaining the running of the team are taken. “I will quit if they continue with the new COO, we have Comfort Shongwe here who has been serving the team for the past years, he has made this team the brand that it is and he cannot be treated like that. The co-directors who are Phinda Dlamini and Nthuthuko Dlamini must come out clear about this or else I will step down if Shongwe is ousted just like that,” he said. Meanwhile, Shongwe, the CEO, said he was surprised by the latest developments. “I am still tongue-tied about the latest at the club. All I can say is that I received a call from the PLS COO notifying me that everything pertaining to the team will be communicated with Elvis Dube. I am lost for words on what to say on this issue but all I know is that I have served Red Lions diligently,” Shongwe said.
