He went through the AIBA Team Cutman course during the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia a fortnight ago. The International Boxing Association (AIBA) released the results yesterday and Tsambokhulu is among those who passed the course. Swaziland Boxing Association (SWABA) President Pearl Dlamini confirmed yesterday that Tsambokhulu was now the first qualified coach to be a cutman during tournaments and they were proud of him having passed the course. “He did well and we are happy that we now have him as a professional and he will assist during tournaments and in the development of the sport in the country. There were rules that were changed by IABA,” she said. Dlamini said now they would wait for his certificate, that stands to be sent in a couple of weeks. Tsambokhulu travelled with Fanana ‘Tyson’ Dlamini to the games, together with boxers Zweli Dlamini and Thabiso Dlamini. Both boxers did not disappoint during the games as Zweli reached the quarter-final stages, while Thabiso was knocked out in the last 16 stages, having passed the first round. What is a cutman? A cutman is a person responsible for preventing and treating physical damage to a fighter during the breaks between rounds of a full contact match such as boxing, kickboxing or a mixed martial arts bout.
