Times Of Swaziland: 2 ARRESTED FOR THEFT OF E150 000 PARTS AT CTA 2 ARRESTED FOR THEFT OF E150 000 PARTS AT CTA ================================================================================ BY MBONGISENI NDZIMANDZE on 24/05/2018 04:28:00 MBABANE – The laxity of security at CTA Mbabane has been exposed. This, after two men entered the premises at around 7pm to steal car parts valued at over E150 000. They are reported to have committed the offence on February 13, 2018. The government cars from which the duo allegedly stripped the parts, are those that are usually handed over to CTA by different ministries after developing mechanical problems and ready to be auctioned. According to the police, the two entered the premises through the fence erected at the back of the CTA depot. On a normal basis, the Mbabane CTA depot is usually under the watchful eye of a security guard who is stationed at its gatehouse. The duo of Sonnboy Kay Kay Bulunga (27) of Sitibeni under Chief Zembe and Sibongeleni Doctor ‘Sbo’ Mafu (23) of Nhlangano, Mangwaneni, have since been arrested and charged with three counts of theft. It is alleged that Bulunga and Mafu stole the parts from the different motor vehicles parked at the Mbabane CTA depot. Some of the car parts they are alleged to have stolen include; gear- boxes, prop shafts, fly wheels, pressure plates, clutch plates, crank shafts, alternator, clutch cylinders, crank shaft pulley and tail lights. They allegedly committed the offences between the months of January and February 2018 In one of the charges, it is alleged that on February 13, 2018, they broke and entered into a truck from the Fire and Emergency Services, registered GSD 103 FE, where they stole a gear box worth E50 000 and a prop shaft valued at E16 000.
