According to a statement sent by Board of Directors Chairman, Zweli Jele, the team are withdrawing a declaration by their CEO Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini regarding the transfer of nine players from Matsapha United to Highlanders. ‘Dino’ was quoted to have said they have left Matsapha United dizzy after signing a number of their players. “Mbabane Highlanders wishes to tender its unreserved and sincere apology to Matsapha United for the unfortunate statement that is attributed to our CEO concerning the recent acquisition of players,” read in part, the statement. The statement continues to stipulate that the Highlanders have a strong and mutual relationship with Matsapha United. “We appreciate the way in which they have treated us during the negotiations. Dissociate “We totally dissociate the team from such negativity. As we continue in the task of rebuilding (there is still a lot of work to be done), we ask our people to focus on our team. “To the directors and management of Matsapha United, kindly accept our unreserved apologies,” read another part of the statement. Effort to get comments from Matsapha’s senior official Sifiso Mnisi proved futile as his mobile phone was apparently switched off.
