Times Of Swaziland: SHE LOST 34KG IN FOUR MONTHS SHE LOST 34KG IN FOUR MONTHS ================================================================================ BY PHOLSILE HLOPHE on 23/03/2019 09:57:00 MBABANE – Losing weight takes time, dedication and hard work. Once that is accomplished, self-content and confidence is guaranteed. A four-month timeline might look too soon for one to expect visible weight loss results but it all depends on how much work is invested in the process and the sacrifices one is willing to make. Primitive cultural beliefs have proven to be the main factor which made African women believe that being chubby was a sign of living a good life but that mentality is in actual fact contrary to the scientific prescriptions of healthy living. Weight issues will continue to be a challenge in the society unless people change their mindset, and not let food substantiate their descriptions of happiness. Living healthy means eating the appropriate kind if food, which will not contribute to weight gain and maintain an active body through exercise. One philosopher once said, ‘doing one and the same thing but expecting a different result is a lack of awareness’. This simply means that if you are facing weight challenges, do not just sit back and dream of a healthy and strong body but commit yourself and work towards the physique you desire. This week’s inspirational transformation story is that of Nosipho Dube, a 30-year-old lady, who said she had always been chubby since childhood and her parents saw nothing wrong with her weight as they believed that it symbolised a good life. Her weight kept piling up with time and last year around November, she was size 40, weighing 104kg. She has since dropped to size 34 and weighs 70kg. “My turning point was exactly last year November. I felt that I could not keep up with my size anymore and I felt lost in the midst of my colleagues who look much slimmer than I am. I took a stand to change and that meant making dietary changes to meet my goals and joining a gym where I received professional guidance on how to shed the extra weight,” said Dube. carefree She revealed that she used to be a carefree eater, indulging mostly on starch products, sugary foods, fizzy drinks, and was not a fan of vegetables but since embarking on the fitness and weight loss journey, her lifestyle has totally changed for the better and the results are remarkable. “It actually took me four months of hard work, dedication and perseverance to see gratifying results and my physical goal is to lose more weight, improve fitness and stay healthy,” she said.
