The foundation, which nurtures the country’s young soccer talent, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sidwashini-based institution of higher learning yesterday. The partnership will see the rebranding of the foundation and designing of a new logo , among other benefits. The university is known for technological advancement. Campus Director Tfobile Gumede highlighted that sharing the same vision of empowering young people with the foundation prompted them to come on board. “As an institution we’re grooming entrepreneurs not jobseekers. “We would like to thank the foundation for investing experience and resources on the young people. We’re looking beyond the MoU as we also want to bring the foundation’s associates on board,” she said. Celebrated Celebrated soccer legend, Absalom ‘Scara’ Thindwa, shared the foundation’s goals while celebrating the partnership. He shared that their initial goal was to start an academy but were restricted by funds, but assured that they were not derailed in their pursuit of grooming youngsters. One of their products in Lungelo Simelane was now attached to South Africa’s ‘Amatuks’ (University of Pretoria). “We thank Limkokwing for opening doors to us and through their creativity we can do many things together,” he said. During yesterday’s festivities, the institution got to share with its guests a video of graduation ceremonies across the globe. There are Limkokwing campuses in Botswana, Lesotho, Sierra Leone, among countries. There are also campuses in Europe and Asia.
