That is the story of 70 parkrunners who braved the heat for the weekly Mbabane Parkrun yesterday. Even though temperatures in the capital city and surroundings areas soared to over 30 Degrees Celsius, it could not deter the enthusiastic runners from taking to the trails to endure the 5km event at Mbabane Club. According to results posted after the race, Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) athlete Nkululeko Gama maintained his cutting edge to win the race in 16:07 minutes. best time remains His best time remains 14:56 minutes. It was clocked last year. He was four seconds faster than his closest challenger in Sifiso Ngcobo from Slojos yesterday. Cheryl Amoroso, on the other hand, was the fastest lady with a time of 30:14 minutes. She shook off Zethu Bhembe in the race for the top spot. Volunteers who made the event happen yesterday were Samuel Atemba, Devin Bauermeister, Erik Bauermeister, Charles Bethel, Nomvula S Dlamini, Gohe Gebremariam, Phumlani Kunene, Cheryl Le Roux, Nonhlanhla Makhanya, Johannes Mbingo, Xolani Ngcamphalala, Neil Robinson, Kirsten Robinson, Ntsikelelo Shabangu and Frankie Williams.
