Esteemed Eswatini referee Mbongeni Shongwe is among top football officials, who continue to lead by example in the fight against the ailment which has devastated the entire world. The country is on a partial lockdown, gyms and other training facilities have been shut down as the country joined hands with the world to fight the pandemic, but Shongwe feels this is no excuse for people not to exercise. Important The elite referee is of the perspective that exercising to keep fit and healthy is more important in such times and as other football and sports administrators, the option for the referee is home or indoor training. “I would like to urge all emaSwati to keep their bodies fit so that in case any sickness is experienced, it would find the body fit to fight it off,” said the middleman. He emphasised that now that the country was fighting to eliminate the COVID-19 pandemic, it was critical for the nation to keep healthy. “EmaSwati should follow all the precautionary measures and safety guidelines put in place by the government and health experts to fight the spread of the disease. Remember They must remember to wash their hands with soap and running water regularly and this should be a culture that must be adopted by the entire family,” said Shongwe. He also encouraged his colleagues, referees in the country, to commit and keep following their individual training programmes. He said his colleagues should keep in mind the season was changing and it was easier to fall victim of sicknesses such as the flu so it was important to keep training at home to be fit and healthy at all times.
