Times Of Swaziland: ‘FOOTBALL ‘KOKI’S 2ND WIFE’ ‘FOOTBALL ‘KOKI’S 2ND WIFE’ ================================================================================ BY THEMBA ZWANE on 05/09/2020 08:49:00 MBABANE – Widow to deceased coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati, Zodwa, considered football as her husband’s second wife. That is how much the former Mbabane Highlanders coach loved football according to his wife, which she disclosed in a letter directed to her late husband during his memorial service yesterday at the Mbabane Alliance Church. “He had another woman in his life, ‘football’, and we competed but he never missed an important family event. His family came first,” read the letter from his wife in part. Meanwhile, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa said he couldn’t agree more with the deceased’s wife that football was his other ‘woman’. “Koki grew up in football, his wife could have not put it better that football was his other ‘woman’. He was not that much talented in playing but I was always there to help him through even if it was tough,” said the president jokingly. Mthethwa said despite the fact that playing football did not work out for Vilakati, he excelled in his coaching job and broke all local records. “On behalf of the EFA, PLE and all our affiliates, we would like to express our heart-felt condolences for this loss,” he said. The president further stated that he had been in football for years and the people he had worked with had become his children, stating that he started to feel a sense of irrelevance at the organisation due to the growing number of years.
