Times Of Swaziland: JANZA FLIES OUT OF ‘BIRDS’ NEST JANZA FLIES OUT OF ‘BIRDS’ NEST ================================================================================ BY SABELO NDZINISA on 24/09/2020 23:53:00 MBABANE – The ‘marriage’ between Mbabane Swallows and Zambian coach Honor Janza has ended in ‘divorce’. The team’s President Archbishop Bheki Lukhele confirmed in a press briefing yesterday that they had amicably parted ways with the coach. The ‘Birds’ boss told journalists that Janza, through a letter received by his office, requested that he (coach) be released from his contract with the team due to the COVID-19 situation. The coach, who is currently back in his home country, had signed a two-year contract with the team, starting from 2019 and ending in 2021, which means the terms of the agreement still had a year to run. “Following this request, I hereby announce that I have graciously agreed to release coach Janza from the terms of the contract with Mbabane Swallows Football Club. For the record, I state that the ending of the contract is mutual, and is as a result of the coach’s request. As president of Mbabane Swallows Football Club, I wish to thank Mr Janza for his services to the club in the last season, even though we did not finish it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I also wish the coach well in his future endeavours,” Lukhele said. The All Nations Church Leader further assured that Janza enjoyed his stay in the country, something which he stated in his letter to the Swallows’ boss. “The coach has thanked the entire Mbabane Swallows family, including fans for treating him well during his stay in Eswatini. He says he will always be a Mbabane Swallows supporter and will have a soft spot for the country and its people. I wish to assure all our stakeholders that we will sign a new coach as well as more players. I promise that Mbabane Swallows Football Club will be ready when the 2020/2021 football season resumes,” Lukhele added. It has been gathered that the capital city giants are currently casting their net wide in search for Janza’s replacement, with unconfirmed reports suggesting that the candidate could be a local coach. Janza briefly confirmed his departure from Swallows in an interview with this publication but did not reveal his next destination. Indications though are that he has secured a job in his home country with an unnamed premier division club.
