Times Of Swaziland: ‘SIKHWAMA’, SANGWENI REJOIN HIGHLANDERS ‘SIKHWAMA’, SANGWENI REJOIN HIGHLANDERS ================================================================================ Chris Dlamini on 07/01/2021 08:58:00 MBABANE – Like the prodigal son, Mbabane Highlanders marquee midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni has rejoined the club. He was facing the axe just last week after failing to report for work on the expected date, with his club that resumed training two weeks ago. However, his agent, Ally Tloaele came out to clear the air about his unexpected absence at the Highlanders training ground, taking the blame following his own (agent) misunderstanding. “Sangweni is back and already in the clubhouse after he arrived yesterday (Tuesday). He came along with our new signees Sikhwama as well as Siphamandla Sangweni,” confirmed the club’s Secretary Simiso ‘Space’ Jele. Sikhwama is the former Baroka FC winger, full name Tshepo Matete with some blazing skill he can be easily said to be a crowd-pleaser as his football skill has that African flair in it. Availability He has already penned a one-year deal with Highlanders and depending on the availability of his work permit, he could debut against rookies Tinyosi next weekend in the MTN Premier League. He was present during Highlanders’ training at Ezulwini after the 2-1 away win to Tambankulu Callies in the league at Mhlume, a game he also watched. His signing makes him the fifth foreign player for Highlanders as others are Siphamandla Mlilo, Thamsanqa, missing Mandisa Gadla and Kenneth Moloto. With Gadla looking set to settle with Ally’s Tigers in South Africa’s ABC Motsepe League, a decision is yet to be made about his place which is now available for one more foreign signing. There are two strikers available and all wanted – these are former Manzini Wanderers’ Ghanaian Johnson Mensah and ex-Orlando Pirates’ Siphamandla Sangweni. Mensah signed a six months contract with Highlanders, but never registered to date.
