Times Of Swaziland: SENSEI THABO CONQUERS CROSSFIT CHALLENGE SENSEI THABO CONQUERS CROSSFIT CHALLENGE ================================================================================ Chris Dlamini on 31/03/2021 08:21:00 EZULWINI - He switched to warrior mode last Saturday to complete about 18 challenges. That is Oyama Kyokushinkaikan Karate’s Sensei Thabo Maseko, who is also the master behind the highly successful Vulemasango and UNESWA Oyama Dojos (clubs), before the sport was banned due to COVID-19 since last March. The second Dan Black belt holder went through the Brookside Lodge Crossfit Challenge by himself after arriving late. Otherwise at least 35 participants had participated earlier on the day. “I was invited by Ashihara Karate’s Sensei Abdul as he’s one of the organisers and another one is lined up in a month’s time. Challenges “The challenges included three by 800-metre runs, farmers walk with 25 litre water-filled containers, jumps, tractor tyre flips, sand bag throws, log squats and many more,” Sensei Maseko related after his experience of the physically testing training challenge. He said it was a good experience for him especially because it came as part of his lockdown exercise. “It was my first experience in such a challenge. There were around 35 of other participants, but had to do mine alone because I heard about it and rushed over for the love of training,” he explained. Since Maseko posted his success of the warrior challenge on his Facebook account as of Saturday afternoon, other karate artists in Oyama and Ashihara have requested for invites to the next event.
