Times Of Swaziland: ‘SAVIOLA’ INSPIRES BUFFS TO 4-1 WIN ‘SAVIOLA’ INSPIRES BUFFS TO 4-1 WIN ================================================================================ BY PHOLSILE HLOPHE on 30/12/2021 08:29:00 SITEKI - Young Buffaloes Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze inspired ‘Amathole Ezinyathi’ to a comfortable 4-1 win over Denver Sundowns here yesterday. Gamedze’s brace in the 28th and 47th minute saw the former Player of the Year take his personal tally to five goals for the season while the army side move two places to position nine after the ‘Week 8’ round of fixtures. Sundowns, on the other hand, dropped two places to the eleventh position after suffering a third loss in a row. ‘Basop Kappa Kappa’ were first to draw blood from the spot kick awarded after Mike Dombo was fouled inside the box as early as the 2nd minute. Dombo rose up to score his fourth of the campaign. But the army side were able to level matters two minutes before the half-hour mark when Buffaloes’ forward ‘Saviola’ received a delightful floating pass from last season’s goal machine, Phiwayinkhosi ‘Slwabelwabe’ Dlamini to score the equaliser. Distracted by the equaliser, Sundowns fell short of vigour and seemed to be chasing shadows as Buffaloes displayed calculated moves in chase of the second goal. Reputable scorer ‘Slwabelwabe’ was off target twice but it was upon the return into the second half that Buffaloes surged forward. It was ‘Saviola’ again who scored the second goal in the 47th minute. Sundowns’ defensive strategy lack crucial execution as they conceded the second goal two minutes after the recess when defender Triston Dunn was no match for second half substitute in Buffaloes quicksilver striker Sifiso Mazibuko who brushed him off coming from the left wing into the scoring range upon receiving a cross from Bongwa Matsebula. Disbelief Buffaloes’ grand stand was set alight when the ball bounced into the net, past Lwethu Simelane on the goal post. Sundowns’ second half substitute Tevin Bhembe sighed in disbelief as his 15-yards rocket shot flew over the post. Confident of securing the much needed victory after a poor start this season, Fanelo ‘Order’ Mamba made a circus out of the opposition’s defenders; waving immaculate dribbles and crossovers while Zimbabwean coach, Bigboy Mawiwi helplessly watched as his team got trotted upon. Buffaloes’ Wandile Maseko completed the rout with a fourth goal in stoppage time to make it 4-1 when he fired a rocket from place kick into the far left corner. The two minutes added time confirmed Buffaloes were on form; a perfect welcome for Coach Savelo Mnisi who was missing from the technical bench for the past three weeks.
