Times Of Swaziland: SLY HIGHLANDERS! SLY HIGHLANDERS! ================================================================================ Lwazi Dlamini on 20/01/2022 08:52:00 MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe is a man of his words. After publicly declaring he needs a coach who will work on a fulltime basis at the ‘Black Bull’, he cast his net in South Africa and beyond. Belgian mentor Luc Eymael was on the list of the wanted but the deal failed to materialise on Tuesday. Kgomongwe has moved swiftly to enlist the services of former Sekhukhune United assistant coach, Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala. Mosala arrived last night and it coincided with the fall-out between coach Ernest Mavuso who is no longer with Highlanders and Kgomongwe after a highly-charged meeting on Monday where the Pretoria-based businessman even left the meeting impromptu. Word reaching the Times Sports Desk last night was that Kgomongwe had made it clear that those who wanted Mavuso in the team would need to come forward and pay his monthly salary said to be in the region of E8 000. “Ally has stuck to his guns that he will bring a coach who will be there full-time and if there is anyone who wants a part-time coach in the team, then he must pay that coach,” an insider at Highlanders Management Committee said. Kgomongwe confirmed last night that he was awaiting the arrival of Mosala to take over the coaching reins at Highlanders. “We will hold a press conference to officially unveil him as soon as he comes through to Eswatini. His experience will help us a lot. That’s all I can say,” Kgomongwe said briefly. Mavuso, who did not respond to our messages this week, was suspended by Kgomongwe and missed Highlanders’ 0-1 loss to Vovovo FC on Sunday where the South Africa-born coach, Masilonyane Maloka, held the reins on a temporary basis. The ‘Black Bull’ face bitter rivals Mbabane Swallows in the big Mbabane derby on Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre, starting at 3pm. Coach Mosala, who arrived shortly after 7pm last night, said his mandate was to continue with the good progress Highlanders had made this season. ‘‘My brother it is all about doing the job and continue with the good work that has been done so far,’’ Mosala said briefly last night. A press conference to officially unveil the former TS Sporting head coach will be held today at noon.
