This comes after one of the team’s official was manhandled by supporters after the 1-0 defeat to Denver Sundowns on Saturday at the Mavuso Sports Centre. The maroon and white hub giants quickly held a joint meeting with the Managing Committee (MC) to address the issue yesterday and to find solutions on how to get the team out of the current situation. The Chairman of the Council of Elders, Joe Nkumane, confirmed the meeting and he said it was a successful one, and they came out with the solution, which would be implemented soon. “The burning issue was that of the official that was manhandled by the supporters and we couldn’t just relax as the safety of our lives comes first,” Nkumane said. He said the current MC has given their all in steering the club thus far, and he also on behalf the council of elders thanked the Board of Directors and the Managing Director (MD), Cedric Mathatha for the financial muscle he has provided to the club. “The supporters are the backbone of our club together with the players, the latter having endured the heavy impact of all the difficulties as main actors on the stage,” Nkumane said. Results He also said what the team was currently facing was not monetary related, but it was the issue of not getting the desired results in games. Nkumane further said the problem areas were identified during the meeting, and solutions were mapped out. He called for calm and requested all stakeholders to give time to these initiatives to settle. He finally urged all Wanderers’ loving supporters and followers to voice out their grievances through the available channels, where they would be appropriately addressed.
