Times Of Swaziland: SANDILE ‘NTOFO’ IN POORLY ATTENDED WANDERERS MEET SANDILE ‘NTOFO’ IN POORLY ATTENDED WANDERERS MEET ================================================================================ Ntokozo Magongo on 17/07/2022 15:10:00 MANZINI – Less than 50 supporters attended Manzini Wanderers supporters meeting yesterday. This was at the Manzini Library whereby the hub giants had convened a supporters’ meeting, but it turned out without the team’s Council of Elders and Management Committee (MC), the handful supporters could not have much to deliberate on. Among the present supporters was the team’s former official Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini, who served as Vovovo Public Relations Officer (PRO) last season. He is a renowned Wanderers at heart but his joining Vovovo also coincided with the hub side’s former boss in Mehluli Nhlengetfwa who had taken over the Motjane-based outfit. Wanderers are among the top supported clubs in the country alongside Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows. Some of the supporters in attendance wanted the meeting to be called off, especially as the MC, elders and directors were not in attendance. The National Supporters Committee’s (NSC) outgoing Chairman Mthunzi Dlamini said it was disappointing but some members of the MC came and left to allow the supporters to raise their concerns freely. Dlamini said another meeting would be arranged whereby all structures will be represented. “We are going to call another meeting and we believe the numbers will improve,” he said. One fan said it was disappointing to see Wanderers supporters failing to honour their own meeting. Also attending was former team official Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza, elder Joe Nkumane who was in attendance on his personal capacity and former MC Chairman Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli among others. OVER 30 SUPPORTERS REGISTER Already over 30 people have registered as card-holding supporters of Manzini Wanderers. The club is in the process of registering their fans and the initiative is led by former Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza who presented the idea to the fans who attended the supporters meeting at Manzini Library yesterday. Each fan pays E100 for registration. Ginindza said there were lots of benefits after one had registered. The registration is online and he said so far they had raised about E3 000 which is set to benefit the team. Meanwhile, it was announced during the meeting that the club would start preseason training tomorrow.
