Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) Pool Team, won their second consecutive Dixie’s International Pool League title with a game to spare two weekends ago. However, wouldn’t have been any sweeter without beating their bitter rivals, Way Inn of Malkerns in the final match of the season. That they did with aplomb, despite the tough competition they got, as they emerged 13-10 winners in the end, at the Matsapha Police Academy this past weekend. The crunch clash meant everything for Way Inn, who were chasing the second spot while it was about pride and bragging rights for REPS. Way Inn ended up finishing third after the defeat, 10 points behind the champions REPS and three behind runners-up Correctional Services. Taking the fourth spot was Manzini Pool Club (MPC). Sponsored The league was sponsored to the tune of E40 000 but they ended up playing for a E30 000 package, as the Manzini Regional Pool Association (MRPA) Executive Committee opted for the teams to have competitive matches, a knockout was introduced and it took the E10 000 from the league package. “Congratulations to REPS Pool Team. This accomplishment draws out your thrill-seeker state of mind. Today you won the title simply because you trusted that you could win. “All your diligent work and commitment have paid off with your win; it is genuine individuals who recollect you by your name, however, the win today recounts the tale of your unyielding boldness. “Be the same always and add numerous quills of achievement to your crown. Congratulations,” MRPA Secretary Musa Dlamini said. Wonderful He also took the opportunity to thank all the teams for a great season and said nothing would have been achieved without their endless efforts to see it through. “While winning is always nice, it is wonderful to see all the kids develop as players and teammates as the season goes on. “Let me also sincerely apologise to you all for all our incompetence at times; it was first term in office but we have learnt a lot and promise to be efficient in the future,” Dlamini said. He added that ‘to make no mistake is not the power of a man, but from their errors and mistakes’ the wise and good learn wisdom for the future.
