Young Buffaloes left-back Kwakhe Thwala has allegedly taken the team to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Players’ Status Committee. This is because the security forces side have allegedly failed to honour promises made to the player prior to signing him for the army side. The exciting young player cemented a spot in the star-studded army side after having made a breakthrough last season from the club’s development side that have been known to develop good players in the league. Promised The player was reportedly promised to be recruited into the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF), but it never happened. Instead, the player was promised to be recruited in the next coming phase which has a long list of other players. “Kwakhe has taken the team to the players’ status committee. The army side have failed to do what was promised to the player before he signed on the dotted line, which was promising him a job in the army,” said our source. Young Buffaloes Head Coach Mandla ‘Stofu’ Dlamini said that a player like Kwakhe was important for his team’s targets of winning the league. “Kwakhe is a good player who still has a future in football. He is important in the club and losing him would be a big blow,’’ he said. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile Gwebu could not be drawn for comment after his cellphone was not available when called for the better part of the day yesterday.
