A youthful Lesotho’s Likuena got the better of Eswatini national team Sihlangu in the first game, winning by 2-1. In the second match, Sihlangu won 1-0, through a solitary goal from Young Buffaloes midfielder Siboniso ‘Gaxa’ Ngwenya. This transpired during the two international practice matches played at Mavuso Sports Centre two days ago. Dominic said the practice matches would go a long way in helping the team in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying game against Togo in South Africa next week. “We just want to thank Lesotho team for giving us the practice match and I think we observed a lot. Such a game will help us in the upcoming game in terms of how to defend, block the passing lines since they are a side that are so quick when they have the ball. The players played well in both the games and I was left impressed with the showing in the matches. We will keep working hard in the training ground to find solutions. I believe that we are in the right track ,” he said. Meanwhile, Lesotho Coach, Veselin Jelusic said the game against Eswatini was competitive. “The game was a great test for our younger players, with many of them making their debut in the national colours. We played very well, especially in the first game which we won. I believe the two games will help our team going forward,” he said. Eswatini will play Togo this month in the AFCON Qualifiers before travelling to South Africa for the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup which will take place in Durban from July 5-16.
