MBABANE – Moneni Pirates have assured their loyalists that they will not lose
any member from their previous season’s team.
The team share these sentiments during their end-of-season meeting held on
Saturday at the Manzini Library. Pirates’ Team Manager Twoman Masuku assured
their fans that Head Coach Masocha Irkabort would still be in charge of the team
even in the upcoming season. “His arrival gave the club some direction.
We’re not trying to undermine the job of his predecessors,” he said briefly.
Masuku further clarified that the coach mandated them to not lose even a single
player in the squad which is estimated to comprise about 22 players. Irkabort
joined Pirates from Denver Sundowns early this year. He finished the league in
seventh place.

The management committee (MC) further called for calm among their faithful, with
the hinted exit of central defender Nkosinathi ‘Stina’ Shongwe. Shongwe has
been said to have been on the wanted list of some top clubs, despite that he his
marriage with his employer runs until the end of next season. The likes of
Njabulo and Kwanele Dlamini who were loaned out to Illovo were confirmed to be
back with the team. Some other players who were loaned out included Mangaliso
Mabelesa and Samkeliso Magagula, who were with All Nations.

This coming Sunday, the team is expected to host an end-of-season party for its
players. This event is scheduled for Sunday. Already a cow has been donated for
the players to be slaughtered.  However, the supporters can still also make any
generous givings towards the success of the event.
