Times Of Swaziland: ‘BULL’S ‘STIGA’ SEALS 3-YEAR DEAL IN BOTSWANA ‘BULL’S ‘STIGA’ SEALS 3-YEAR DEAL IN BOTSWANA ================================================================================ Nimrod Hlophe on 20/08/2023 17:03:00 MBABANE – After rejecting capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders’ new deal, Banele ‘Stiga’ Ndzabandzaba has found a new home in Botswana. About a fortnight ago, it was reported that Ndzabandzaba rejected a contract extension from the ‘Black Bull’. According to sources close to the player, Stiga was trying his luck with Botswana side BDF XI Sporting Club in recent weeks, but was later unveiled by another Botswana Premier League team yesterday. The 25-year-old midfielder was unveiled by security forces team Police XI in the morning hours, according to their Facebook page. “Police XI FC (Botswana) is delighted to announce the signing of former Mbabane Highlanders FC box-to-box midfielder Banele ‘Stiga’ Ndzabandzaba from Eswatini on a three-year deal. The 25-year-old midfielder will wear jersey 5.” Police XI are based in the village of Otse, south of Gaborone. The Botswana Premier League side proved to trust the local player as he was among the starting squad yesterday when they played their preseason tournament. He started in the first match, where he played in position six before he was substituted at the hour mark. The Jungle Kings, as they are affectionately called, advanced to the finals where they lost. Stiga becomes the third Eswatini international player after national team Sihlangu Captain Lindo Mkhonta and Justice Figuareido. Mkhonta plies his trade with Zambia’s top flight side ZESCO United, while Figuareido is in South Africa’s DStv Premiership side Richards Bay. Also on the verge of joining the DStv Premiership is Green Mamba and national team Sihlangu box-to-box midfielder Mxolisi ‘Kudus’ Mkhonto, who is with Royal AM pending finalisation of the deal.
