The capital city giants, Highlanders, will be without their defender Ndumiso Mabuza when they face Ezulwini United this coming Sunday. Mabuza is one of players who have been nabbed by the yellow card rule. As per the 2023/24 MTN Premier League rules and regulations, it clearly states that if a player has accumulated three yellow cards consecutively, he is, therefore, suspended for the next match to be played by his team. “According to the record filed at the PLE Office the player has accumulated three yellow cards. In terms of Article (37.1) of the MTN Premier League of the 2023/24 Rules and Regulations the player is, therefore, suspended from participating in the next one match to be played by his team,” reads part of the suspension letter. Meanwhile, Young Buffaloes has also suffered a blow, as they will go up against Madlenya without their defensive midfielder Mancoba Mavimbela, as he has also been frozen. Mpendulo Simelane will play no part when his team visit Highlanders at Mavuso Sports Centre on Sunday. The rest of the suspended players in the Premier League and National First Division will serve their one-match ban next week when ‘Y’ello action’ resumes.
