Times Of Swaziland: ‘VARDY’ BLOW FOR MADLENYA ‘VARDY’ BLOW FOR MADLENYA ================================================================================ Lindokuhle Madlopha on 27/04/2024 07:54:00 MBABANE - Madlenya has suffered a huge blow as they will be without their striker Melusi ‘Vardy’ Thwala for week 23 of the MTN Premier League which is set to continue this weekend. Madlenya will miss their seasoned striker Thwala when they face Rangers at KaLanga Technical Centre this afternoon. The former Nsingizini Hotspurs striker will miss the match against the Shiselweni-based side as he has been struck by the Yellow card rule for the MTN Premier League Rules and Regulations. At least five other players will be sidelined for the upcoming games this weekend. These players have been snoozed by the MTN Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Article 37 (1) of the rules and regulations that players who have accumulated three yellow cards will be suspended for the next match for their teams. However, the William ‘Baggio’ Gamedze side defender Lethokuhle Gamedze will miss his side’s next two games after accumulating six yellow cards. As per Article 37(2) of the 2023 MTN Premier League Rules and Regulations, the player who receives six yellow cards is automatically suspended for his team’s next two matches, which means that the influential defender will be unavailable for Madlenya for the upcoming league match against Rangers and Denver Sundowns. “In terms of Article (37.1) of the MTN Premier League of the 2023/24 Rules and Regulations the player is therefore automatically suspended from participating in the next match to be played by his team.” Reads an extract from a letter issued to one of the suspended players.
