‘BIRDS’ FANS BEG ‘TIGER’ TO STAY

MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows fans are not pleased at all after the team’s
midfield sensation Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini was reportedly linked with Young
Buffaloes.
Following  this past Tuesday’s report by this publication on ‘Tiger’s
possible move, most football fans on social media platforms expressed their
disappointment and many went on to accuse the forces teams of crippling the
standard of football in the country.  As of Tuesday, the Eswatini Premier League
Facebook fans page was flooded with posts and comments of fans sharing their
thoughts on the possible move for their favourite player.
However, others felt like the move would be worth it, as they mentioned that
there was life after football.  It is no secret that joining security forces
usually comes with job opportunities for players. The midfielder was influential
for his team’s success last season, as they won the MTN Premier League and
were runners-up in the Ingwenyema Cup. His performance for the ‘Birds’
earned him a call-up in the national team.

Meanwhile, Green Mamba were reportedly after the signature of Leon ‘Chuster’
Manyisa, who also forms part of the team that will represent Sihlangu ahead of
their games against Angola and Mauritius in the World Cup qualifiers.  The squad
will then play the 2024 Council of Southern African Football Championships
(COSAFA) Senior Men’s Championships later on.
Should by any chance the two players fly from the ‘Birds nest’, it would be
a noticeable setback for Mbabane Swallows ahead of their  participation in the
TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League,
scheduled to commence in August.
