WEST’S ELIMINATION ================================================================================ Sanele Jele on 06/08/2024 07:50:00 MBABANE – Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Jane Simelane observed as Mbabane West suffered an exit from the Tinkhundla Talent Search Tournament. The team was defeated by Ndzingeni in a closely-contested match at Msunduza Sports Ground, culminating in a 5-4 victory on penalties for Ndzingeni, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, two days ago. Ndzingeni is set to face Hhukwini, at the Mkhuzweni Technical Centre next Saturday. Minister of Tourism and Mbabane West Member of Parliament (MP) Simelane, Mbabane West Indvuna Yenkhundla Phinda Maziya and Hhukwini Member of Parliament Alec Lushaba, were all watching the game. Others in attendance were Ndzingeni MP Singalwi Magagula and Indvuna Yenkhundla of Motshane, Fikelephi Mvila Ndzingeni took the lead in the 26th minute through Saneliso Tsabedze, with Mbabane West managing to equalise two minutes later, through Lucar Waddy Shibemba. Following a grueling 90 minutes of play, the match concluded in a 1-1 draw, leading to a penalty shootout. Minister Simelane expressed disappointment as Simanga Dlamini missed the final penalty, while Sinenkosi Mpaza converted the decisive penalty for Ndzingeni, sparking scenes of jubilation among the visiting crowd, led by their MP Magagula. Advancement Prior to the game, the minister had confidently stated that Mbabane West would progress to the next round, assuring fellow MP Magagula of their guaranteed advancement. Similarly, MP Magagula had also anticipated their team’s progression to the next round. In other notable matches, Siphocosini secured a 5-4 victory over Nkhaba; Lobamba triumphed 1-0 over Maphalaleni; and Timphisini emerged victorious, with a 2-1 win against Madlangempisi. Additionally, Mayiwane suffered a 2-3 defeat to Pigg’s Peak, while Motshane comfortably advanced to the next round with a 2-0 victory over Mbabane East. Ntfonjeni bowed out after a 4-5 loss on penalties to Mhlangatane.
