Ambitious MTN Premier League outfit Moneni Pirates are linked with former South Africa Betway Premiership sides Stellenbosch and Richards Bay striker Snethemba Mngomezulu. An impeccable source close to the player revealed that Mngomezulu, who once appeared for Mbabane Highlanders and the now-defunct Matsapha United, was recently in the country to be assessed by the ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni. The source said Mngomezulu returned to South Africa and was supposed to be back next week for further talks with Pirates. “When he came into the country, he went to train with Ezulwini United, but nothing materialised, as President Polycarp was busy with the PLE nominations,” the source said. The source disclosed that after the player’s stint with the ‘Stingers’ decided to change camp and he went to Pirates. “What I heard is that Pirates was eager to sign him, but now the deal is in limbo, as they recently unveiled a new coach, who might what to bring his own players,” the source lamented. The source further revealed that Mngomezulu was eager to play in the MTN Premier League again, as he has unfinished business in the country. Meanwhile, Pirates Manager Twoman Masuku said the club’s procedure was against revealing their potential targets.
