In a first-of-its-kind, the 16 clubs that will be participating in the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup 2024 were presented with playing kits, yesterday. This took place at Sigwaca House, where the teams received kits valued at E180 000. The betting company sponsored the inaugural tournament to the tune of E2 million, with about E200 000 reserved for playing kits for all participants. Notably, teams that reach the finals will receive another kit. It is rare for teams to receive kits at the last 16 round of a tournament; usually, they are presented at the quarter-finals stage. The clubs received these kits from 8Bet Chief Operations Officer (COO) Belinda Motsa and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chairman, Polycarp Dlamini. Motsa hoped the kits would make the teams look presentable and warned them against misconduct during tournament. Meanwhile, PLE Chairman Dlamini encouraged clubs to promote 8Bet and use the kits in every match of the tournament. “Everything you use must be from the sponsor. I encourage you to also stay away from violence and show sportsmanship. Encourage fans to accept the outcomes of the games and avoid misconduct to dodge the fines,” Dlamini said. He urged teams not to steal players from the national team Sihlangu’s camp, but to look for ways to explore new skills within their squads.Meanwhile, Young Buffaloes Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sandile Gwebu thanked the sponsor for the kits. Gwebu was speaking on behalf of the club. “8Bet has chosen the right path to expand its business through football.” Gwebu said. ... no tickets sale at Mavuso Sports Centre For a change, there will be no tickets sold at the gates of Mavuso Sports Centre during the eight-day 8Bet Trade Fair Cup competition.
