MBABANE – One of the revered football legends in England, Yakubu Aiyegben, is
expected in the country next Thursday.
Aiyegben is a former Portsmouth and English Premier League side Everton forward.
He is also a Super Eagles of Nigeria legend. The legend’s trip to Eswatini has
been made possible by Njobo Nkosi, after their meeting in England, last month.
Among other duties, he is expected to facilitate the establishment of an Everton
academy here in the country. “He (Yakubu) is expected to bring along
Neymar’s agent who will scout for talent. They have worked together in
different projects,” said Nkosi.
Neymar’s well-known agent is Zahavi, who was born in Ness Ziona, Israel in
1955. Neymar is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as an attacking
midfielder for Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal and the Brazil national team. In a
WhatsApp group video call, the respected legend confirmed the planned visit to
the country, saying he was looking forward to coming after establishing a
friendship with Nkosi.

“I have never been to Eswatini, so I’m excited. “My friend (Njobo)
convinced me to come to Eswatini. I can be honoured to meet the country’s
authorities,” he said.
Yakubu, who also played for Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers, made 250 Premier
League appearances and scored 96 goals in a career spanning 20 years and
featured three times for then fourth-tier side Coventry City before retirement,
back in 2017.
