Team G Cycling Club Principal Sifiso Gulwako confirmed this exciting development. “It is with immense pleasure that I announce the inclusion of a new member to our ranks. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to our newest cyclist, Muzi Shabangu.” Gulwako expressed their elation about having Shabangu in the elite category roster, emphasising the cyclist’s remarkable achievements, which include clinching five national championships. Shabangu was also the first Eswatini athlete to participate in the World Championships. He boasts vast international exposure that includes competing in the African Championships in Kigali, Rwanda, back in 2018. He conveyed optimism about the team’s future and encouraged all members to extend a heartfelt welcome to Shabangu as he integrates into their cycling family. Recently, former elite cyclist from NewCom Wheels Nontsikelela Mdlovu also joined the new team. Resign Shabangu also confirmed his decision to resign from MTN Khemani in order to join Team G, having been with MTN Khemani since 2016. “For me, it was a matter of seeking a change in environment and pursuing new challenges,” Shabangu stated. He expressed his eagerness to compete vigorously, win races and demonstrate his capabilities in his new team. Meanwhile, MTN Khemani Secretary General Nomfundo Jiyane extended their best wishes to Shabangu. “We confirm that Muzi has resigned from Khemani Cycling Club. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and look forward to seeing him continue to excel on the road.”
