Times Of Swaziland: ANOTHER TWIST IN RELEGATION CASE, FOLLOWING ... BID TO STOP PIRATES GAMES ANOTHER TWIST IN RELEGATION CASE, FOLLOWING ... BID TO STOP PIRATES GAMES ================================================================================ Machawe Fakudze on 20/09/2024 07:50:00 MBABANE – It is far from over! This is the relegation saga involving hub rivals Manzini Wanderers and Denver Sundowns, which has taken a new twist. The ‘Weslians’, through their legal representatives SM Jele Attorneys wrote to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu informing the EFA, that the marathon matter, which is in court was far from getting to finality. The matter was supposed to be before High Court Judge Bonginkosi Magagula, two days ago, but it was postponed to today, 9:30am. The postponement was fuelled by Jimoh Moses’ representatives LN Dlamini and Associates requesting that Judge Magagula should recuse himself from the matter. Ties They alleged that he had ties with one of the Wanderers officials. According to Charlie ‘Minga’ Jele, their client, Wanderers were disturbed by the attitude of the EFA of ignoring the court case and allowing the fixture of Moneni Pirates to proceed. EFA’s legal bodies (Disciplinary Committee and Appeals Board) are respondents in the pending case in court while the ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni can be relegated if Wanderers win the protest. “We are not aware of the intention for such conduct, but it is seriously bordering on contempt of court,” reads part of the letter. Jele said they were writing to the EFA to stop all Moneni Pirates matches pending the finality of the matter as of this weekend fixtures. “Our client further instructed us to also seek an Order for contempt of Court on any official, who is seen to be ignoring the pending court case, which if successful carries a jail term,” reads an extract from the letter. Wanderers claimed they were made aware of a master fixture which does not include them but Pirates. Response It further stated that they were demanding a response by the end of business yesterday, failing which, the application shall be moved to court for compliance. Moneni Pirates Public Relations Officer (PRO) Tipho Shabalala said nothing of that nature had reached his office by the time this report was compiled.Meanwhile, the EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe also shared that they had not received such a letter. He was called at 5:39pm.
