YAKUBU TRAINS WITH ‘SEA ROBBERS’

MBABANE – Former English Premiership side Everton visiting legend Yakubu
Ayegbeni visited MTN Premier League outfit Moneni Pirates, onTuesday.
The former Nigerian national team Super Eagles forward is currently in the
country, courtesy of the Prince Majaha Foundation. He arrived in Eswatini
alongside another EPL Legend Yannick Ntari, through the King Mswati III
International Airport, three days ago. He was met by the Prince Majaha
Foundation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Njobo Nkosi as well as Moneni Pirates
Director Thulani Xaba.
An impeccable source close to the ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni revealed that the
player, who also appeared for top English sides, Blackburn Rovers,
Middlesbrough, Leicester City and Portsmouth, was spotted at the Christopher
Ennin-coached outfit’s training base at Enjabulweni Schools Sports Ground.
“Yakubu was at Pirates training ground on Tuesday, where he was seen talking
to the team in the presence of Coach Ennin,” the source said. The African
football legend’s presence at the Menzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane-captained
side was confirmed by Manager Twoman Masuku. “Yes, it is true that Yakubu was
at our training and he gave the players good advice,” Masuku said.
Motivated
The manager revealed that the legend also had the opportunity to flex his
muscles with the players in yesterday’s evening training session.  He also
said the EPL legends motivated the players on how to reach for the stars in
football. “He told them that as a player, what is important is how to conduct
oneself and respect teammates,” he said. Masuku also shared that even the
pupils of Enjabulweni Schools had the opportunity to mingle with the legendary
striker.
Notably, Yakubu and Ntari immediately got down to business, shortly after their
arrival in the country. Two days ago, they officially sent off the country’s
national Under-20s squad, ahead of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations
(AFCON) qualifiers. The games get underway in Mozambique, today. He encouraged
the players to show the coaches that they really deserve to be in the national
team’s starting 11.
