This adage proves true for Royal Leopard attacking midfielder Junior ‘Shisa Gesi’ Magagula and Malanti Chiefs player Sibonelo Myaba, who are the best players for September in the MTN League in their respective leagues. Junior, who is fresh from firing a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Illovo, was the past month’s best player in the MTN Premier League. The Malanti Chiefs star starred in the National First Division, in the period under review. The winners were announced by Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Brand and Marketing Manager Lindokuhle Mthupha and PLE Awards Committee Member Nhlanhla ‘Madida’ Mabuza at the Eswatini Football Association Technical Centre in Lobamba, yesterday. Mthupha expressed gratitude to the sponsor for encouraging players with such an award. “It is truly motivating to the players knowing they are not just playing for fun. Gratitude goes to Head Coach Zdravko Logarusic for allowing Magagula to be in attendance,” she said. Magagula won E6 000 and a trophy for shining the brightest in the Premier League. “Other players should continue working hard so they can be awarded as well. Gratitude goes to my teammates who played a role in ensuring I bagged this award,” said Magagula, who is on five goals, this season.Myaba, on the other hand, earned E2 000 for his exceptional display in the country’s football second-tier. He had earlier been ruled out, due to an injury for over four months before returning to shine. “I am truly happy to win an award having been off the pitch for months. I’m dedicating my trophy to Given Lukhele. He is my former teammate and friend,” he said. Lukhele joined Mbabane Swallows from Malanti. He is currently hospitalised after suffering a terrible injury in a car crash.
