MANZINI – The Mozambique Head Coach, Chiquinho Conde, is cautious ahead of the
clash against Sihlangu, today.
Conde addressed the media during a pre-match conference held in Mozambique,
yesterday. His troops host Sihlangu at the iconic Zimpeto Stadium in Mozambique,
with kick off set for 3pm today. This event represents a continuation of the
2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers. “Eswatini is one
of the strongest teams in Africa. My team is undergoing extensive training in
preparation for our match against them. The outcome of the game could result in
either a victory or a defeat for our opponents. Eswatini players are kind of
rude when it comes to playing and we must have morals to win against them,” he
stated.
In his squad, Conde boasts of Portugal-based side Sporting de Clube forward Geny
Catamo, to penetrate the defensive line of Eswatini. Additionally, he has
summoned the 40-year-old veteran striker Elias Dominguez’ Pelembe to challenge
the Sihlangu team. Meanwhile, Sihlangu Coach Zdravko ‘Loga’ Logarusic has
stressed the need to finish second after the end of the qualifying campaign.
Ahead of  the clash, Eswatini are at the bottom without any points.“We’ll
have to play against a team that will top the group; there is nothing
questionable about it. All of us have to fight for the second position, and
we’re not in a nice position. There’s hope, however, and we have to try
everything to reach the second position,” the Croatian tactician said.
