MBABANE – Premier League outfit Royal Leopard triumphed over Mozambique
football side Black Bulls with a convincing score of 3-0, in an international
friendly game held in Mozambique, two days ago.
The Edwin Matsebula side seized the opportunity to organise a friendly game
against the Mozambican club, which ultimately resulted in an impressive victory
for his team. The police side’s goals were scored by Sibonelo ‘Jekwa’
Simelane, Mancoba Maseko, and Bonginkosi ‘Manyovu’ Dlamini.
Leopard Public Relations Officer Frank Hurube confirmed that the team had indeed
travelled to Mozambique for their friendly match against Black Bulls. He
expressed delight on the outcome of the match, stating that the victory is a
testament to the team’s quality of players.
“The  international break provided an ideal opportunity for our team to
challenge themselves against a foreign opponent, allowing us to gauge our
strengths and weaknesses. We are thrilled to have secured a 3-0 win against
Black Bulls and equally pleased with the valuable insights gained from this
match.Moreover, the trip enabled us to support our national team, Sihlangu, as
they faced Mozambique, adding a sense of solidarity and national pride to our
journey. Overall, the experience proved to be both rewarding and gratifying for
our team,” he said.
Standings
Meanwhile, in the ongoing MTN Premier League, ‘Ingwemabalabala’, occupy
third place on the standings, having amassed 10 points from four league matches.
Sharing the same number of points, are Green Mamba in second place.Defending
champions Mbabane Swallows are at the top with 12 points.
Meanwhile, Shiselweni-based side Nsingizini Hotspurs lost 0-2 against South
Africa’s ‘giant-slayers’ Milford that are competing in the National First
Division. The friendly match took place at the Empangeni Rugby Club in
KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), yesterday afternoon.
