Times Of Swaziland: ‘KHUNE’ JOINS PLE BOARD OF GOVERNORS ‘KHUNE’ JOINS PLE BOARD OF GOVERNORS ================================================================================ Melusi Mkhabela on 16/10/2024 15:24:00 MBABANE – Lozitha Spurs have officially announced the appointment of Thabiso ‘Khune’ Manyatsi as one of the club’s new PLE Board of Governors (BoG) member. Manyatsi will represent the team in the PLE Board of Governors. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to his new role, having previously worked with Sidwashini United, last season. At Sidwashini United, Manyatsi distinguished himself by winning the prestigious Best Public Relations Officer (PRO) Award in the National First Division. His efforts in fostering communication and engagement between the club, its supporters, and the nation as a whole played a significant role in enhancing the club’s image and community presence. Meanwhile, Lozitha Spurs Director and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Executive Member Melusi Dlamini confirmed Manyatsi’s appointment. “Yes, Thabiso is one of our BoG members now. It’s a long-term appointment because he is young and will add value to the team,” revealed Dlamini. He expressed confidence in Manyatsi’s capabilities, believing that his expertise will be instrumental in driving the club’s vision forward. Dlamini also noted that Manyatsi’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the club’s governance and enhance its operations both on and off the field. One of his key responsibilities will be seeking sponsorships. “We are looking to secure sponsorships, which is why we have young professionals on board. These sponsorships will assist the team in the future, so we need individuals with marketing expertise,” said Dlamini. He further mentioned that they are still in the process of building the team, emphasising the need for someone to nurture and develop the relatively young squad, with the cut-off age set at 23 this season. “Most of the players we have are between the ages of 17 and 23, so we are still in the building phase, and then we will take it from there,” expressed the Lozitha Spurs director. Dlamini went on to highlight that when a team is successfully built, it should yield the desired results. He also revealed that they have a new PRO joining the team, who is coming from the Super League side Louis XIV. “There is also Siyabonga Khumalo, who will take up the PRO position at the club,” Dlamini noted.
