Times Of Swaziland: WE COULD HAVE DONE BETTER – ‘BIRDS’ CALEB WE COULD HAVE DONE BETTER – ‘BIRDS’ CALEB ================================================================================ Ashmond Nzima on 28/10/2024 08:14:00 BIG BEND – Mbabane Swallows Head Coach Caleb Ngwenya conceded his troops were found wanting in the 0-1 upset against Moneni Pirates, two days ago. Swallows’ unbeaten run of 29 games stretching from last season ended dramatically, after a fortuitous own goal by goalkeeper Sandanezwe Mathabela in the feisty MTN Premier League clash played before a roaring crowd at Mayaluka Stadium. In reaction to the setback, Ngwenya stressed that they struggled on the last third. “We couldn’t find that last pass. Even though we tried, we could have done better. Overall, I can’t fault the boys,” he said. Ngwenya assured that they will pick themselves up and work on the grey areas. Pirates Coach Christopher Ennin, who steered the ‘Moneni Buccaneers’ to their first win in over 11 years against Swallows, expressed hope that the result was a turning point after stuttering in their first five fixtures of the league. It was their second win of the season in six attempts. “We came with a game plan, as we knew how they play; as my former team, the plan was to restrict them from playing their usual power play. “I was happy with the performance of the boys, as they remained tactically-disciplined,” he said. The coach conceded that they did not have a dream start after dropping points against tough opponents in previous fixtures, stressing on the need to be consistent.
